The most important thing that we can do right now is listen; to show up to the community in an authentic and transparent way. This kind of openness and trust is a model for how I want to be with my team, and how I want to interact with the community of patients, caregivers, nurses, physicians, and advocacy groups. I'm really proud of Genentech and its commitment to diversity and inclusion. It’s infused in almost everything we do. It's about different backgrounds; and leveraging those differences to share new perspectives and ideas. Our openness to differences and debate is what has, and what will make us successful in building the right teams, and partnerships with the hemophilia community. Persistence is progress, and Genentech is a company that doesn't give up. That, to me, is incredibly powerful.
